This is an amazing book! Especially around Christmas! This is one of our family favorite Christmas stories that we will read year after year. It's a tradition now for us.
This book gives the question what would happen if Jesus hadn't come? And there are some amazing discussion questions to explore that more.
It is a great book to read as a family, to read in church to a Sunday school class, etc. The message is fantastic, the story flows so well.
A little boy is getting ready for Christmas and looking forward to the presents he hopes to get. He reads the bible before bed with his father, and goes to bed thinking of what they read. Then he wakes up and there is no Christmas, there are no places to help people in need, and there are rude people all around. He is so lost in this new world and cannot understand what happened?
This story shows so many great points about Christmas and Jesus, and the NEED for Jesus. A few great points are that Christmas isn't just about presents, what would happen to our world if there was no Jesus and no forgiveness for our sins? It really got my children thinking on this, and thinking how the entire world would be if things were changed like this. This story captured their attention and had them asking all sorts of questions throughout. They didn't once lose interest, and fully enjoyed this story. I highly recommend it to families, and to put it on your Christmas book list.
::My Thoughts::
Gripping, heart wrenching, emotional, angry, happy, breathless...
Those were just a few descriptions of how you will feel when reading this book. Honestly this book took me on an emotional roller coaster.
This book came in the perfect year because things like drugs, abuse, poverty, etc., that is all here and now. Right in our day and age. I think readers will definitely be able to appreciate that this book describes very real life in some areas!
Drugs are a very real epidemic in the world today. Sadly there are also women living within these worlds unable to get out even if they do not do the drugs themselves. Children living with parents who put drugs first, unimaginable tragedies happening because drugs are coming before children, young men and women that live in drug filled neighborhoods and cannot move due to income issues, and it is a sad but harsh truth in the world today.
Jaycee is an extremely strong character. I felt her pain so much while reading this book. At times my heart felt so heavy for her. Even though Jaycee is a fictional character the author brings her to life, and I believe there are probably some women out there today that can relate to Jaycee. Jaycee led a very hard life and seen nothing much but tragedy. She forged ahead on her own and did everything she could to keep on the right path. Growing up with a mother who put drugs ahead of her own children, losing a brother whom she loved with all her heart, getting into a relationship to feel love but only getting abuse in turn, and then having her life turned upside down when she realizes she is pregnant by a highly dangerous man.
Thank goodness for Gabe. I believe he balanced this book out nicely, and honestly it shows that sometimes people come into our lives who may help us tremendously. People we wouldn't expect to have, but that are really God sent. They come into our lives for a reason. I believe Gabe was definitely that person to Jaycee. I also love the fact that Gabe and Jaycee are two totally different people with completely different backgrounds and it shows that you cannot judge someones character by their looks or upbringing.
This is truly a book about redemption, salvation, and honestly TRUST in God. I could not figure out what would happen in this novel next. This is not an easy read honestly. It was hard to get through some parts because at times I wanted to leap into the pages and shake some sense into some of these characters, and ask what was wrong with them??? There are other times I wanted to just wrap some of the characters in a hug. That's how well written these characters are. They come to life within the pages.
And despite everything Jaycee had been through she showed amazing courage and selfless love.
I highly recommend this book, and I appreciate the raw honesty this book brings. Even though this is a fictional book it deals with very real issues in the world today.

::My Thoughts::
I love the legal suspense in this book. It was gripping, and very interesting. I love how Sophie is ready to make a difference and dive right into work. However, when she finds herself in a situation where she can no longer safely carry out her own daily tasks she gets a body guard named Cooper. After witnessing a double homicide she has to be prepared to carry out her job as needed, but also be prepared as a witness.
I would definitely say that this book is a fast paced suspenseful novel. There is romance, but the suspense will have to turning the pages faster than you can read them to find out what will happen next. If you like suspense books with romance thrown in then you should definitely give this book a try. You won't regret it. I will definitely be looking into other books in this series, and looking for more from this author.
::My Thoughts::
I actually haven't had the pleasure to read a really suspenseful book in a little while, and this one definitely did not disappoint! I really enjoyed every bit of this book, and to say it had me on the edge of my seat would be an understatement. Many times throughout the story I was actually holding my breath wondering what would happen next!
This is my first Nancy Mehl novel, but I honestly cannot wait to read more of her books. The characters are captivating and very well done. The scenes that took place were just simply riveting! There are other books in this series, and unfortunately I did not get to read those. However, I wouldn't let that deter you from giving this book a read. It can definitely be a stand alone read. If you want more insight into the characters though then I would possibly go back and read the other books. But honestly it isn't necessary to enjoy this book.
My favorite thing about this book is that it definitely keeps you guessing. I can usually predict a books outcome, but there were so many surprises that I just didn't see coming!
::My Thoughts::
What an excellent read! A lot of times with historical fiction, especially when talking romance novels certain aspects can blend together. It's very easy to go the stereotypical route, but thankfully this book did not. This book was out of the norm which made things completely unexpected. There were twists, turns, etc. I love books that take me by surprise, and I was glad that I could not guess what would happen in the next chapter throughout the book. It made the book that much more fun to read.
The main characters came to life right on the pages! While reading it was almost like I was right in the room with them! Nolan and Hannah had so much misfortune in their lives. Multiple obstacles were repeatedly thrown in their path, and still they persevered! It was a huge relief even though I kept expected this or that unfortunate event to rock them out of their element they held fast. It made everything that much more exciting to read. The characters definitely have depth to them, the story has many layers and will take you by surprise. There are a lot of other characters also that had me intrigued within the story. I would love to see more books about some of them. Especially Iris, Hannah's aunt. All in all I greatly enjoyed this story. It was romantic, it was heartbreaking, it was shocking, it was surprising. I think a lot of my blog readers will enjoy this novel. This one will definitely be going on my favorites shelf, and I can't wait to read more from this author.

For Christian parents, there is no greater joy than seeing their children learn to walk with the Lord. And there is no greater fear than that their children will walk away from God.

After serving together in pastoral ministry for forty years, Phil and Diane Comer know those hopes and fears well. Thirty-seven years ago, they became parents themselves. And like all new parents, they were intimidated and unsure about how to take on the task of spiritually training their young children.

Now, with all four of their children grown and establishing their own households of faith, Phil and Diane have embarked on a quest to help the next generation of parents raise passionate Jesus followers. Drawing on years of pastoral counseling, teaching, leading, and decades of watching families from the perspective of pastors and leaders in ministry, Phil and Diane instruct, guide, encourage, and offer hope and practical help to Christian parents.

Raising Passionate Jesus Followersis a manual full of practical, biblically based guidelines that parents will be able to turn to again and again through each stage of their childrenโs development. Starting at birth, into grade school, through the daunting teenage years, to launching them into college, and finally letting go, this book contains the whyโs and the howโs parents need. This book will serve as an invaluable resource for any parent whose greatest longing is to shepherd their children into a vibrant faith in God.

::My Thoughts::
I am always interested in discovering new parenting books and getting new parenting advice. In a world that is ever changing, it's always good to get all the advice you can. Especially when it comes to Christian parenting.
This book has a lot of relatable stories throughout, and a lot of tips. There are even various sections with advice on ages which I appreciated because methods differs with each age group. I believe this can be a great instructional book for new Christian parents who may not have been raised in a Christian home as well. Those that don't know where to start with their children's faith and Christianity.
This is basically a reference book, but I did enjoy it. It definitely will work best as a sort of handbook where you can go back and look at it whenever you need it. Definitely a good option to keep on your book shelf.
::My Thoughts::
This was a very well written book. It captivated me. This book is well researched, well written, and very insightful. The stories in the book are very compelling and some gave me chills!
As this is a very controversial topic I won't speak much on it other than:
While I am still not one hundred percent sold on reincarnation I do believe there is life after death with God. I also believe we do not have all the answers and anything is possible.
I have read a lot of stories about people coming back from death, and there are things I have witnessed that are unexplainable. But this book gives even more than just those stories. There are chapters about children remembering past lives, psychic and physical mediums, etc. It definitely would make a great read for those who seek to know more about such topics. Definitely don't pass this book up as there are some powerful stories in it.
I would rate this book a 5 out of 5.
::My Thoughts::
This is an exceptional novel. I have read a couple of Connilyn Cossette's novels before, but this one so far is my favorite. This was nicely researched, the characters are alive on the pages, and the story overall will have you on with your finger ready to turn the page to see what will happen next. This book took me completely by surprise. I didn't want to put it down. I really loved Moriyah because despite all of her circumstances she never let anything break her. She was a very brave character. I also greatly enjoyed the character of Darek because he believes in justice, and does not judge harshly on others.
The author vividly describes everything so you can see everything with ease as you read. It more so played out like a movie in my mind while I read it was that vivid. There is a great message of salvation within this book's pages, and I think a lot of biblical fiction readers will greatly enjoy this one.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I could barely put it down, and when I did put it down (because, well...life) I couldn't wait to pick it back up and read again.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The story is completely unpredictable and is a real life type of story. It is very realistic. A very wealthy artist, Roman Velasco, comes from a very troubled past. He doesn't believe in people, God, and barely even himself. He leads a secret lifestyle that nobody knows about as the Bird, an unknown graffiti artist that has tagged buildings all over. If anyone found out his secret he could lose everything. Then comes along Grace Moore who also has quite the past of her own including a disastrous failed marriage. She becomes Roman's personal assistance and dislikes his personality at once. But as she gets to know Roman their lives begin to intwine.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I feel that many people out there in many different situations could even relate to this book.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">It is a great read for believers as well as non believers. I love that this book shows that hope should always be there, and God is always waiting and ready to forgive. God's work with us is never done whether we realize it or not. We all have our pasts. This is not a book that will sit and preach but rather a book that will open your eyes the fact that God loves you and is only waiting. It is a very powerful and motivating book.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I had never personally read a book by the author, Francine Rivers, before this book and I can't wait to read more by her. Nevermind painting, the writing and story itself is truly a masterpiece. It has everything from romance, bitterness, suspense, drama, tears, happiness, etc.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I have been recommending this book left and right. It truly moved me and kept me guessing right until the very end. The characters just came right to life and no situation got sugar coated. I applaud this author for keeping things real especially in this day and age.
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Now, if you want to see what all the fuss is about first hand then do yourself a favor and go read this book!
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">My rating is 5 out of 5 stars.
::About the book::
This book is about a family that runs a hog farm, and lives deep in the holler in the Appalachian Mountains. The father is a war veteran that has been wounded in the war, and is left bitter by life and the hand he was dealt. All the girls in the family are named after gems, and the book is mostly centered on Emerald. Girls are married off young and often without choice. Often in poverty stricken families deals are struck and little thought is given to the girls. Unfortunately Emerald was betrayed by her father due to their poverty and his bitterness.

::My Thoughts::
I really enjoyed this book. God is definitely seen in every chapter. There are old Appalachian sayings at the beginning of each chapter which are enjoyable as well. Emerald was my favorite character because despite all the bad that had befallen her she still persevered through it all and clung to her faith. It was amazing to see God's work in every chapter.
I will admit some of the story was predictable, but the majority of it did surprise me. I would love to see a sequel to this book. It definitely drew me in and had me captured. It left me wanting more in the end.

::My Thoughts::
Okay, let me just start out by saying I LOVED this book! Seriously, I have recommended this book to so many people. This book has many things I haven't found in a book in a long time. I felt a mixture of emotions while reading this book, and I just plain could NOT put this book down. You know it's a great novel when you are rushing through to get time to sit down and read again. I can honestly say I was hooked from the first chapter, and only a few books have captured me that quickly.
Angela Hunt is a great author. I have had the pleasure of reading a couple of her novels, and this one definitely didn't disappoint. Giving biblical characters lives and stories outside of the bible can definitely be tricky, but Angela Hunt did a fantastic job for the Maccabees.
My heart broke for Leah's mother, and Leah who had to live in a house filled with such physical abuse. My heart hurt for them, but the love that Judah and Leah had for each other was amazing. And Judah's entire family just honestly had my heart. Judah was such a surprising character for me. The gentle giant who put God above all, and loved his family with his entire heart as well.
The war parts in this story were difficult to read at times, but a must. It gives you a bit of insight on what things were like in biblical history. As graphic as it is, that was just how it was at times.
This is definitely a great read to show that no matter what is going on in life just trust and hold fast to God. Never let your faith waver. It is also a great show that everyone in life has a purpose for God. Even if you feel you have no purpose or you don't think you found your purpose you just might have and not even realized it. Leah felt often lost in life, and she was confused. Growing up the way she did she didn't fully talk to God and even though she believed it was clear that it was hard to put her complete trust in Him. Her growth as a woman, and a wife was amazing to read.
I don't want to give too much away because I don't want to spoil the novel for anyone. However, if you are looking for a novel that has war but love, despair but faith, loss but gain, then this book is definitely for you. It had me on the edge of my seat, and it gripped me in many ways. Highly recommended.
::My Thoughts::
This is a wonderful book for children! Especially really young children who have questions about other types of families. There are so many different types of families, and sometimes that is hard for children to understand. Occasionally children may ask questions about those families because every family is different. Some families have moms and dads while some only have one parent. Sometimes a child lives with their grandparents. Sometimes there are families who adopt a child. Some families have many children while others only may have one. So many differences, and sometimes that is hard for some young children to understand. This book is wonderful for those questions. It not only answers a child's question about why other families may not be like theirs, but it shows God's love in each family. God is what brings family together, and that is so important to realize.
This book is not too long so it definitely captures your children's attention and holds it. The illustrations are wonderful. The pages are colorful and the illustrations are very well done and detailed. My children loved looking at the pages and noticing so many little details here and there.
I would highly recommend this book.
Well it is that time parents! Time for your little ones to dress up as their wildest imagination and collect candy door to door. Many children look forward to Halloween, but there are some important things to consider before going out on Halloween! Whether your children are old enough to go trick or treating with friends in the neighborhood without you or if you take your children trick or treating there are things to consider before going out. Here are some helpful tips for a safe and easy going Halloween. I know I am looking forward to a much less stressful Halloween by following these tips.

My favorite tip is Tip #1 Eat before you Trick or Treat. There is nothing worse than dealing with Hangry kiddos who are snipping candy here and there because they cannot wait. By feeding them before they go out they will have more energy and be more likely to wait before sampling some of the goodies in their bucket. Then when they get home you can check their candy for safety and have peace of mind that they didn't eat half of their bucket first!

Here is to wishing everyone a Happy, Safe, and Fun Halloween this year! And a special thank you to http://www.fletcherchrysler.com/ for providing us with these helpful tips!

Let me just start by saying I am so glad that a book like this one is out there for girls. This is a fantastic read for young girls, and I would have loved having this book on my shelf when I was young. This is best suited for girls ages 8-12, but is flexible on age I think. My favorite thing about this book is there is so much advice on being able to deal with and ignore others opinions, and being more confident in yourself. It helps girls find more stability in God than through others, and teaches girls they are not alone. This is definitely an inspirational and truly moving book. It helps answer questions that many young girls have about themselves, and their future. It helps them move into their future with more confidence, and I believe can help root them deeper spiritually. It is current with today's culture, and just an all around fantastic devotional for girls. It is even a great fit for girls that are busy with sports or school as the devotionals take barely no time at all. It even has quizzes for girls to do and find out more about themselves. It would be wonderful for a mother, grandmother, aunt, older sister, etc., to read with their young tween. It gets girls thinking, and the author shares a lot of her own personal stories that are very relatable. This book deals with topics that girls face on an everyday basis, peer pressure, bullying, acceptance of others, self-esteem, etc. There is even a wonderful Table of Contents where a young girl can look up specific subjects she may need help with. The prayers contained in this book are equally as wonderful, and there isn't one thing I didn't love about this book. I definitely recommend it for any young girls out there, and really at any age. It is that wonderful. I, myself, was excited about what would come next. My cousin whom I gifted this book too loves it. She spends so much time just reading and reading it. She can read a chapter a day, more if she wishes, and even revisits some of them. In a world as we live in today I recommend this book for all young girls.

::My Thoughts::
I have always been fascinated by Cleopatra and I really enjoyed this book. While it didn't give as much details on Cleopatra that I would have liked, her friend Chava was very intriguing. This book gives a unique fictional story on Cleopatra's upbringing and rise to power and delves into Cleopatra's friend Chava.
I feel like this book has a lot of historical and biblical details and you can definitely tell a lot of research was put into this book. The characters are all very well developed, and the details are amazing. This book will definitely have you immersed.
This book is not predictable at all which I appreciate because I love being surprised.
I was very intrigued by Chava's story and experiences.
I do wish there was more reconciliation at the end. I was definitely left wishing for more. I just felt like more of the story should have been included before the ending. However, I still recommend giving this book a read. Especially if you love historical details, and are intrigued by biblical times and characters.
Charlotte Davis is in pieces. At seventeen sheโs already lost more than most people do in a lifetime. But sheโs learned how to forget. The broken glass washes away the sorrow until there is nothing but calm. You donโt have to think about your father and the river. Your best friend, who is gone forever. Or your mother, who has nothing left to give you.
Every new scar hardens Charlieโs heart just a little more, yet it still hurts so much. It hurts enough to not care anymore, which is sometimes what has to happen before you can find your way back from the edge.
A deeply moving portrait of a girl in a world that owes her nothing, and has taken so much, and the journey she undergoes to put herself back together. Kathleen Glasgow's debut is heartbreakingly real and unflinchingly honest. Itโs a story you wonโt be able to look away from.
::My Thoughts::
Let me just start by saying I could not put this book down once I started reading it. In today's world many teens face many trials in their lives. It is a sad truth that often goes unlooked. This is a fantastic book that looks at the mental health of some teens, especially those that are dealt a very hard lot in life through no fault of their own. It also shows that there are always people out there that care, and that can help. That no matter how far down you think you are that you can always rise up again. This may be a hard read for some of you out there. It does deal with self harm, and goes into detail at times. But it is wonderful to see the characters grow throughout the story as well. And once you start reading it if you are liked me it will be hard to put down. I just had to keep reading to see how things worked out for Charlie, and the other characters as well. Her perserverence through the novel was really something amazing. I don't want to go into too much detail because I don't want to include any spoilers so I will just give a bit of info...
Charlie is a teen girl put into a mental health facility. She doesn't want to speak to anyone. She has been through things she would rather not relive even in her own mind. She is abandoned, and has hurt herself in more ways than one. She has been in some dangerous situations. She hurts inside and out. There are other girls like her in ways while being different in the facility with her. She gets out of the mental health facility and has to learn to cope in the real world. She has to learn to do things on her own, and she tries her best to break her habits of self harm. She wants so badly to be normal, to be happy, but in a world full of problems she doesn't know where to begin. As much as she tries she just can't seem to get a step up...
I can't give away any more than that, but I definitely recommend you give this book a read especially if you are a fan of Thirteen Reasons Why, Girl Interrupted, etc.
I finished about five books that I need to get up for review this week. I have been reading when everyone else goes to sleep whenever I can. It's about the only reading time I get anymore unless I set an alarm and get up extra early. Although sometimes my kids hear me up early and they get up too which kind of defeats that trick. LOL

<span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Noto Sans", sans-serif; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: all 0.2s ease;">::Movies or Shows I watched this weekend::
<span style="background-color: white; color: #2e2e2e; font-family: "Noto Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">This weekend was my birthday and we decided we would all go out together and watch a movie in theaters. I wanted to go see Transformers the Last Knight, BUT the theater we go to didn't have it playing when we were able to go since hubby had to work the next day. We had to make sure it was over early enough to eat and get to bed at a decent time since hubby gets up so early for work. SO we seen Despicable Me 3 instead which was pretty funny. The kiddo's really had a blast there so that was awesome. Other than that I have watched no TV other than catching up on some of my favorite vlogs like PhillipsFamBam, She's In Her Apron, Style Mom XO, Happily A Housewife, and a few others. Right now I'm not thinking well just because I have a lot going on in the background so I can't think of the other vlogs right off the top of my head yet. LOL I'm sure all you fellow momma's out there know just what I'm talking about.

<span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Noto Sans", sans-serif; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: all 0.2s ease;">::On my TV::
Nothing tonight although I will be watching some more vlogs probably in the morning if I have time before everyone wakes up. Me and hubby have quite the day packed with errands tomorrow so it won't leave much time for too many shows. Wednesday, however, me and the kids are going to watch Moana on Netflix since we haven't seen it yet. If I can fit some shows in I'm finishing up season 8 on The Vampire Diaries Thursday hopefully. There are also some documentary's I wouldn't mind watching on Netflix as well.<br style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #2e2e2e; font-family: "Noto Sans", sans-serif; Since it's already late I have pretty much gotten all my chores done for today other than the after dinner clean up. So I will just fill you in on what I did get done today.
Kitchen- got all the dishes caught up, swept and mopped the floors, tidied the cabinets and shelves
Living room- Vacuumed the couch, vacuumed the floor, picked up a thousand toys (probably not even exaggerating here)
Dining area- Wiped down the table and chairs which I do after every meal anyway so 3x a day since my kiddo's are some messy eaters regardless of how hard they try to be neat lol.
Laundry- washed 5 loads of clothes (we were all pretty much out of clean clothes it was sad. I'm not gonna lie I have been terrible on laundry the last couple weeks because we have been on the go nonstop).
I also washed all the bed linens, vacuumed the matresses off, and all the bedroom floors and upstairs hall.

Tomorrow I will be cleaning the bathrooms since I didn't get to them today although thankfully (and surprisingly) they are not messy at all. I tidy up and wipe the bathrooms down quickly every evening just because...kids you know which really helps keep up with the bathrooms and takes me no time at all. Tomorrow I really just want to wipe things down more in depth, sweep, mop, and change the hand towels and such.
::My Thoughts::
First off I would like to start by saying that I loved this book. Absolutely loved it. I am a huge fan of the Out From Eygpt books, and this one was by far my favorite. It is a great example of God's love, not just in general, but for women. I love the biblical history and how hooked I was throughout this book. This book pulled me right in and kept me there.
I love seeing the characters journey's and all of the characters have so much depth. It is as if you really know them.
It is a wonderful example of God's love, getting closer to God, and just believing in Him. A great reminder for everyone. I cannot recommend this book enough, and it would be a wonderful read for any book clubs out there. It includes discussion questions that I recommend answering in any book club or group.
Definitely don't pass on this book. It deserves 5 stars and more.

The NIV Kidsโ Visual Study Bible, for ages 8โ12, brings the Bible to life in four-color illustrated splendor. This study Bible includes a spectacular full-color interior featuring over 700 illustrations, photos, infographics, and maps on every page that visually represent key Bible information. Each page also features important facts located near the relevant verse. Intriguing facts; colorful, engaging maps; photographs; and illustrations make this a Bible theyโll want to explore.

::My Thoughts::

This is one of my top favorite study bibles for kids. It is gorgeous, fun, easy to read and understand, and just so informative all around.

Every page highlights certain verses and gives explanations. Not just that but on the side bar! So much more visual pleasing and eye catching versus the bottom of the page. This is the Complete text of the New International Version translation of the bible, and has important facts throughout. All of the photos, illustrations, and maps throughout are magnificent and eye catching. While this is geared for ages 8-12 kids of various ages will enjoy this. My almost 7 year old loves this bible just as much as my nine year old. I even love reading it! I would highly suggest this study bible for your youngster. It has greatly helped in bible studies around our house, and kids can more easily absorb what they read.

This is a great book for young girls to read. It has a lot of great examples such as about prayer. It shows how to walk in faith as a young girl/tween, and is relatable for any Christian girl.

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #002f36; font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: -0.3rem; padding: 0px;">
Almost every young girl in this day and age wants a celebrity lifestyle. They dream of being singers, actresses, models, etc. Unfortunately the majority of examples out there are not exactly the best. This book sets a whole new positive example for young girls.

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #002f36; font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: -0.3rem; padding: 0px;">
The issues that Lena faces in the book are perfectly viewed and understood from a young girls point of view as well.

After a sheltered life in Pittsburgh, Hope Irvine is ready for a new adventure. When her father takes a position as a preacher in a railroad car converted into a traveling church, she's thrilled at the chance to accompany him. While accommodations in their new chapel car home are tight, Hope couldn't be happier putting her musical skills to good use and ministering to the people of West Virginia alongside her father. But when their chapel car arrives in Finch, West Virginia, they find a coal mining community that has hit hard times and is suspicious of outsiders.

Luke Hughes works for the coal mine when he can, but the struggling company doesn't always offer steady work. When Reverend Irvine and Hope arrive in town, Luke is intrigued by what the reverend can teach him--and by the lovely and kind Hope.

When Hope's desire to bring supplies and Sunday school classes to neighboring counties leads to her traveling with a flirtatious young mine manager, Luke is hard-pressed to suppress his jealousy. But when he begins to suspect the manager's motives are less than charitable, can he prove it without hurting Hope, or worse, putting her in danger?

As you all know I love historical fiction of any kind. This book was no exception as it gives a lot of information on ways of living for coal miners and their families. The poverty, dangers, and all around struggle.

This book also keeps the Christian values that I know many of you appreciate while reading a book.

I did wish the characters had a bit more depth to them, but it didn't discourage me from enjoying them or this book. Luke was my favorite although I felt he needed more passion and drive. Hope is very caring but also seems spoiled in many ways. Kirby is most definitely a spoiled adult child and I expected more suspense surrounding this character.

There wasn't as much suspense as I typically like in these types of novels, but if you like a really easy going read this book is perfect.

The author definitely did research so this book is rich in history, and the details are amazing. I always love the little details in books, and this book delivers. All in all I felt this is a good book to pick up if you want an easy weekend read, or just something more laid back.

:::From the back of the book:::

In God's Easter Miracles, the sea kids learn that Easter isn't about the Easter bunny or candy. It's about Jesus Christ giving up His life for all of us, and how we are to sacrifice ourselves for others.

Paul, who is autistic, struggles with relationships, Jimmy doesn't want to share, and Lenny clings to life due to a terrible boat accident. On Easter Sunday, the children witness the power of their prayers. Their Sunday School teacher, Miss Linda, tells the children, "Truly, God has blessed us with many Easter miracles. Lenny was healed, and Jimmy asked Jesus into his heart." Even Paul has a miraculous change of heart. A true lesson of becoming more like Jesus is learned in this beautiful Easter story of love and grace.
God's Easter Miracles, written by Lee Ann Mancini, is part of the multi-award winning Adventures of the Sea Kids series. It is a fantastic book for the littles, and would make an amazing addition to any home or church library. It is a great book to teach children about Jesus's love for us. There are many different great learning messages contained within the pages of this book. From teaching the important of prayer not only for yourself or others, but also teaching about compassion and friendship. We greatly enjoyed this book. We read it as a family and my children that can read on their own read it alone as well. It is more than just a book to read. There are little symbols hidden throughout the book on the pages for children to find, which makes it very interactive as well. The story flowed nicely and is very easy for children to understand which is wonderful. This is a book that far extends beyond just Easter, but has great lessons for everyday life. The pictures are also very well illustrated. They are nicely done, colorful, and fun. It will definitely pull your kids into the pages, and transport them. I can't wait to check out more books from this wonderful author. I highly recommend it.
I heard on the radio the other day how people always say they need more days in a week, but really we need more days for the weekend! LOL! How true that is! I have some exciting new ideas for the blog that I brainstormed about over the weekend. I will be doing a lot more hauls so those are coming up in the very near future.
Tomorrow a New show hubby found called Cooper's Treasure on Discovery. New episode comes on tomorrow at 10pm. Here is a summary:
COOPER'S TREASURE is a new documentary series that tells the incredible story of a legendary astronaut and the secret treasure map he began from space. In the 1960s, Gordon Cooper was one of NASA's original space pioneers, breaking the record for the longest space flight while completing a 122 hour mission. Sent to detect nuclear sites, it was on this mission he discovered something extraordinary that he would keep secret for over 40 years.

While in space Gordon noticed a series of anomalies around the South Caribbean and photographed over 100 of them. These anomalies were dark patches that appeared on his photographs of the earth. He believed there was only one explanation for these and thought them to be sunken ships, including the lost fleet of Christopher Columbus. Working for decades in secret, he created a map that he believed could uncover billions of pounds-worth of treasure. Before he passed away, Gordon shared his secret with his long-time friend Darrell Miklos in the hope that the exploration would continue and the mystery would finally be solved. Now, the one man Gordon trusted has the research and evidence, together with Gordon's map from space and is setting out with a team of seasoned explorers and researchers to once and for all accomplish his friend's long-held dream - to uncover the world's greatest treasures.

Cooper's Treasure airs Tuesdays 10pm on Discovery!

Good afternoon all, hope you had a great weekend. I had a busy one. It seemed like my kids were all extremely hyper this weekend! LOL
I think we are all just so excited that warmer weather and sunshine has finally reached us! It definitely boosts my mood. I'm hoping to get out in the yard this week. We are planning a little section to be a fairy garden. Have you seen them on Pinterest and Facebook? They are cute and whimsical.

::The weather::
We are back and forth in the 60s and 70s. We have some rain and thunderstorms coming this week but sunshine also.

::On my reading pile::
I am almost done with Girl In Pieces. I did not get to read any over the weekend. We were all so busy and by the time I got the kids wound down for the night each night I was more than ready for bed myself. It's an interesting read although some parts are tough to get through. This will be for review.

::Movies or Shows I watched this weekend::
I started watching some of the new TV series Riverdale. It is a television show on the CW based on the older Archie comics and cartoons. Such as Archie's Weird Mysteries which I used to love watching when I was younger. I also used to enjoy reading the comics. It is definitely different though for sure. I haven't watched enough to really say too much about it yet though.

I also watched a few vlogs. I found a family vlog I really enjoy on YouTube- PhillipsFamBam. If you haven't checked them out definitely give them a try. They do family style vlogs, cook with me's, eat with me's, Sunday sit downs, they go live, they do grocery hauls, work out videos, challenges, just a little of everything really. Plus what I love about them is they post consistently. You don't have to wait days to get new posts. One of their newest videos I plan to watch today is where they try a bunch of different Australian foods sent to them.
You can also send them recipes to be featured on their cook with me's and they will film them being made, trying them, etc.

Breakfast and lunch dishes are all on the counter. We were in a rush this morning and then I had a couple quick errands. We just got back for lunch and finished up so I have to scrape them all and give them a wash. Clean the kitchen, Gizmo needs a good bath and brushing so doing that today.
