Bible Study for Busy Mamas Thirty Days In 1 Corinthians 13

As a mom I can attest to how busy we can be. It's hard to find time to sit down, take a bath, etc. Let alone get in any bible study time. I love to get in bible study, to sit down and take in God's word. The problem is the time it takes to do so.  I feel guilty on those days where I just don't find the time to do that. So for that reason I specifically like to look for short Bible Studies, especially ones with moms in focus.
This is one of those such Bible study books which I like. Each study takes about five minutes at a time, and in addition to that there is even a way to include your children with you! Not only are the bible studies quick and easy, but you won't believe how in depth they are! It truly astounded me.
This book helps you get to know one chapter (only 13 verses) of the Bible. You can do this over thirty days or so and you only have to devote five minutes a day, (or more if you want to). It's a fun and enlightening challenge.
Every lesson in this book not only directed for moms but, as I mentioned before, there are lessons included for your children too! This is especially handy if the only free time you get is while your children are awake, or if you try to squeeze in separate bible studies for you and your children. Why not do it all in one if you can? The children's lessons are of course optional.
The lessons are extremely fun and you will find yourself deeply involved. My kids loved doing the lessons with me and had such fun. They were actually really disappointed, as was I, when we finished the book! There are tons of ways to get creative with the lessons too which is always great because everyone's household is different of course.
All in all a great bible study for moms, children, dads, and just the whole family to be a part of. I highly recommend it. If you do give it a try come back and let me know what you thought of it! I am proud and pleased to say that I got to wonderful opportunity to review the inScribed Collection from Thomas Nelson publishers. The inScribed Collection is a series of bible study books for women that help them become closer to God and cover many challenges Christian women face.
What I love about these books is they are not all written by one author, but different women so you are getting many different experiences, points of views, and advice.
The inScribed Collection is a fantastic bible study series to read on your own, or as a larger group. Each book is easy to delve right into and just get lost in. I also believe every woman can take something away from each book, and bring yourself closer to God.
Below I've included my thoughts on each book as well as a bit about each book:

Dive Deeper by: Jenifer Jernigan
Finding deep faith beyond shallow religion

In this book find out the difference between knowing the Bible and actually understanding the Bible. Written by a preacher's daughter d.i.v.e. deeper right along with her. Get out of your safe zone with this book and come to really understand Scripture, deepening your relationship with Jesus beyond your own thoughts. While I read this book I realized that while I know the Bible I don't fully understand many parts of it, and that is a problem. We can't just get by knowing the Bible, but we need to understand it.

Encounter God through extraordinary prayer

We don't have to long for Him in our hearts, we can experience it. Prayer can be the channel for us all to link our hearts to God's. In this book we see how God gave the pattern of the tabernacle to the Israelites. Through it God taught them how to approach and worship Him before their journey to the promised land. This author uses the tabernacle and its articles as a guide, and we are led down a path through worship and intimacy with God.

Sometimes we find ourselves praying desperately for something only to find we are left either confused or disappointed by God's response. We then begin to question how God could have allowed bad things to happen to good people, especially if we pray desperately for a different outcome. Why doesn't God answer some of our prayer requests? Doesn't he hear them? Doesn't he hear us? These are all questions that we all ask from time to time. And this book helps to answer some of those questions. In this book we learn more about the book of Habakkuk and explore the prophet's prayer, God's response, and the prophet's journey from confusion to worship. This is a very interactive Bible study, and is the perfect choice for those who are hurting, confused, or find yourselves asking questions about the outcome of God's response to our prayers.

Living So That by Wendy Blight

Making faith-filled choices for the midst of a messy life

This is an interesting study book. This takes on a completely different approach to understand God's Word, and focuses on some of the most powerful verses in Scripture. 

This author writes with an easily approachable style, easy to understand, and includes many personal examples along with her biblical teachings. In this book the author shows ways to take the Word of God and live it so you can impact the world around you. You will find a new light on living, and find that you can use biblical truths to make decisions even in the present-day. It's a very enlightening book, and was by far one of my favorites. It is very easy to understand, and incredibly enlightening.

"Call to Action" sections challenge readers to take practical steps to apply what they have learned.

Helpful tips and tools for practicing active faith.

I strongly recommend the inScribed Collection for any women's Bible study group, or for the woman that wants to do Bible study on her own. This is by far one of the most easily relatable, most enjoyable, Bible studies I have had the pleasure to read. You will find yourself on a path you didn't expect and learning along each step you take with these four books! You will definitely be able to expect life change after reading this collection.

Stumbling Into Grace book review

Stumbling Into Grace

I had the pleasure to read Stumbling Into Grace Confessions of a Sometimes Spiritually Clumsy Woman by Lisa Harper. I absolutely loved it! It almost feels as if you are in a direct conversation with Lisa Harper just like old friends. You could be sitting at the dinner table with her talking over a good meal, or just taking a stroll and enjoying each other's company. It literally felt like she was RIGHT THERE.
It is such an effortless read!
I felt so many emotions while reading this book. One minute you will feel tears, one minute astonishment, the next laughter and joy. The book covers so many topics it was quite refreshing.
It is a diary/devotional novel. A great read for any person, group, etc. I think it really fits all the masses. As a matter of fact I am going to recommend it to my women’s study group at church.
Another thing I thought was pretty cool about this book is at the end of each chapter there is a prayer followed by personal reflection/group discussion questions, followed by optional journal entry. Even for those of you who like to read the occasional book but don’t particularly like a heavy-read this would be perfect as I think you could read a chapter a day and reflect on your own or by recording it in a journal.
Another pretty remarkable thing that Lisa does is she takes her everyday “happenings” and finds a way to apply the word of God to them. It was very interesting and something that most of us don’t really think to do in our everyday lives. It was especially enjoyable on the humorous embarrassing parts applied to the word. We all have embarrassing “clumsy” moments in our lives and it is always so good and refreshing to go back and look on them with laughter instead of shame.
I urge you to give this book a try. I think you will pleasantly surprised and really enjoy it.
It’s a great women’s spiritual book, and it really opens our eyes to God’s word in a more modern way. I have never read a book anything quite like it, and I look forward to sharing it with friends and family.
